Rodger and Gary met at around age 5 as classmates at Adams Square Nursery School in Worcester, MA. They have been playing music together in one form or another since around age 13, from their early days in the Spencer, MA based band, Vengeance, to the power rock trio Borrowed Time, as the dynamic duo Double or Nothin', and later their 2001 debut cd release "How Many Ways" with their band 31 North. With 31 North they were able to share the stage with such names as The Marshall Tucker Band, Thin Lizzy, NRBQ, Edwin McCain, Flock of Seagulls, Sister Hazel, and Deborah Gibson. And they are beyond thrilled to be able to now share the stage with the next generation of musicians in Nate (Gary's son) and Matt (Nate's best bud) to create this unique blend of music they are all lucky enough to share with the world (or at least the greater central Massachusetts area).
Nate started his musical journey at around age 10 playing the bass guitar. His band "Edge of Rock" performed at his school talent show to great critical acclaim, but would disband shortly thereafter due to creative differences. It wasn't long until Nate started playing the six string guitar and began honing his craft influenced by the likes of Angus Young, Slash, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to name a few. His diverse musical tastes have allowed him to explore the different genres and develop his guitar playing. He adds so much flavor to the NRG sound. Through his friendship with Matt, the two would often play guitar together and Matt's natural music ability began to shine through. Matt would start to sit at the old drum kit in Nate and Gary's music room and provide the beat almost out of nowhere. He started off slow on the cajon for NRG, but his natural ability behind the kit was not to be denied and he lays down his signature groove which is woven into the fabric of NRG.
These four guys are having the time of their lives playing the music that they love, sharing it with their faithful fans, and just hanging out with each other telling fart jokes.
